At Eagle Lake Camps, we like to say that enthusiasm is contagious and we invite you become an enthusiast by joining us for a fun-filled, genuine summer either as a camper or in the role of a counselor.  We have numerous programs available to meet the needs of most campers that include our summer day camp at historic Glen Eyrie in Colorado Springs for ages 7-12.  Also our adventuresome overnight camps that are located on our beautiful 9,000-ft. elevation; 330-acre property and geared for kids ages 7-18.

Furthermore we have taken the very best elements of Eagle Lake Camps and transported them to churches by way of our On Location day camps in the Denver area and throughout the country.  These are exceptionally well run programs and are not an outsourced VBS.
One of the special things that set Eagle Lake Camps apart from other programs is our wonderful counselors.  In fact, it turns out to be a great experience for them too.  Many of our former counselors still say five, ten, or even fifteen years later that the summers they spent at camp were some of the best of their lives.  Moreover we have many campers that return during their college summers to take on the role of a counselor.  It provides them the opportunity to practice being part of a community and serving others.
At Eagle Lake Camps, we have a rigorous recruitment process for camp counselors and we only accept the very best college students who readily accept their role as a spiritual coach.  Each counselor is thoroughly trained and developed, and we constantly evaluate programs and staff to ensure your child gets the best experience.  All of our camps practice the strictest safety protocols, and we are accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA) as well as licensed by the State of Colorado.

Another very special program we offer is our Eagle Lake Horse Camps that are designed for girls only, ages 12-18.  At Horse Camp, we use horses to teach life and spiritual lessons that enables our campers to grow:

·         Socially - communication, teamwork, leadership, confidence, tact

·         Mentally - problem solving and learning new skills

·         Physically - coordination, balance, muscle strength

The Navigators’ Metro Ministry

Our Eagle Lake Camps summer programs blend fun and spiritual growth into one of the best camp experiences around.  We offer a choice of programs with our premier Overnight Camps for ages 7-18, a quality Day Camp at Glen Eyrie, and multiple programs across the country through Eagle Lake On Location for ages 7-12.  The Eagle Lake Camps are run by The Navigators, whose ministry is focused on loving and serving Christ through discipleship.  Our goal is to carry forward Christ’s instructions to make disciples who in turn make other disciples.

One of The Navigators ministries is the Metro Mission, which is a group of ordinary men and women with an extraordinary passion for igniting hope centered on Jesus Christ and his Word.  The mission involves getting together groups of devoted friends in cities across the U.S. who team up to be, do, and speak the Good News of Jesus.

Many of the men and women who serve the Metro Mission do it on a part-time basis.  The mission partners with local churches and reaches out to a multitude of groups that include ex-convicts, businessmen and women, immigrants, stay-at-home moms, urban children and young adults.
Our city ministries include the work being done by NavConnect that connects people with the community and resources all with the goal of disciples encouraging and building up each other as they go out to disciple others.  Via Affirmativa, which means “the way of affirmation,” is the intersection of faith and art and seeks to affirm that creative spirit and inspire all whom we encounter to live in redemptive creativity.

The Ethnic Ministry is our commitment to reach out to ethnic minorities that live right here in America. Lastly our Workplace Ministry is about living out the grace and truth of Jesus in our workplace and integrating our faith daily throughout our work day.
If you share our same passion to share Christ with your neighbors, your coworkers, and your city, join us!  We want to ignite hope in the city, and help you to do the same.

Navigator Ministries throughout the World

Many of you are acquainted with us through our wonderful Eagle Lake Camps in the Colorado Springs area and Eagle Lake On Location programs that are spread out across the country.  You may not be as familiar with The Navigators International Ministries that has been helping to introduce Jesus to those who do not know Him since 1933 and now serves more than 1,200 cross-cultural missionaries in 107 countries.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, The Navigators’ international advancement of the Gospel overseas is done primarily through two ministries, NavMissions and Discipling for Development.  Our work of launching disciplemaking ministries across the globe and making disciples among all nations follows in the footsteps of our founder, Dawson Trotman.  The Navigators first overseas mission was to China in 1949.
As one of our U.S. international ministries, NavMissions sends Americans that wish to serve as missionaries overseas and then sustains them throughout the course of their stay.  NavMissions supports missionaries in over 50 countries, from North and South America to Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Pacific.  Many of our missionaries are in areas where people have historically been resistant to the Gospel, which is why we make sure to sustain and disciple all of our overseas workers to enable them to disciple to others.
The other major arm of our international ministries is Discipling for Development, which is dedicated to discipling people, developing communities, and transforming lives in impoverished areas throughout Africa.  Since so many of the small villages lack the required basic necessities for healthy living conditions, sufficient food, and economic hope, Discipling for Development works to transform their thinking and behavior.
We empower the community to create their own solutions and show them how to reproduce this process in others.   It is The Navigators way of enabling people to become all that God intended for them to be instead of just simply meeting their short-term needs.
If you share our calling to serve Christ by making disciples overseas, join us.  Please take a look at our website to see the number of ways that you can make a difference and get involved.

Find Out How The Navigators Began

Since 1957, Eagle Lake Camps have been offering summer camps in the Colorado Springs area that are combined with a Christ-centered focus and fun activities geared for youths ages 7-18.  Our goal is to provide young people a safe place to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially while having the opportunity to experience the outdoors.  Summer programs for 2014 include an outstanding selection of Colorado Springs Overnight Camps, our Day Camp at Glen Eyrie, and our Eagle Lake On Location programs that are spread out across the country.

While you may already be aware of the wonderful programs that we offer to young people each summer, you may not be as familiar with the rich history of the Camps.  Eagle Lake was started by The Navigators back in 1957 as part of the ministry of working with youths; but the beginning of The Navigators dates back to the 1930’s.

The founder of The Navigators was Dawson Trotman, who started his ministry in Southern California working with high school students.  His inspiration came from the scripture, 2 Timothy 2:2: "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others."  Trotman went on to teach sailors in the U.S. Navy, and by the end of World War II, there were thousands of men growing in Christ and actively sharing their faith.  The principle of spiritual multiplication by the person-to-person teaching of God's word was starting to grow and spread.

At the same time, the high school students of Trotman’s earlier teachings in Southern California were starting to reach out to others and spread the word throughout their communities.  Now 80 years later, as an international, interdenominational Christian ministry, The Navigators is in over 100 countries around the world serving those who are seeking Christ in their lives.  Our goal is to make a permanent difference in the lives of people around the world. Our purpose—To Know Christ and to Make Him Known®—describes the center and direction of the ministry.

Eagle Lake Camps were founded by The Navigators Christian Ministry and offer exciting adventures for overnight campers ages 8-18, and day camps packed with fun-filled activities geared for ages 7-12.  Our programs have a Christ-centered focus that helps to promote spiritual growth and provide value, safety and fun for each camper.  Please contact us to learn more about our summercamps.
